GCSE Celebrations!

Following excellent A Level results, Wilmington Grammar School for Boys can now also celebrate a remarkable set of GCSE results – possibly the best in its 75-year history!

These incredible results mean that more students than ever before are eligible to take ambitious next steps on their education journey. Our students have been totally dedicated and determined and have now been reward for their hard work. 

Mr Harrington, Headteacher, comments ‘These results prove, without doubt, that with consistency and cheerful collaboration, you can achieve results that are quite exceptional. The students in Year 11 deserve great credit – as do all the staff who have supported them. The students should be proud of their individual and collective achievements. We are very proud of them and cannot wait to see what they go on to achieve in the future.’ 

Several students achieved grades that place them at the pinnacle of national achievement: Louie Green, Marek Zagorski, Zizo Alakhal, Safwan Quraishi and Abhishek Sarangi. Special mention must also go to the high number of students who achieved well beyond their expected grades. The individual achievements of every student in this year must not be underestimated.  

Mr Harrington’s final thoughts, ‘The best GCSE outcomes ever achieved at WGSB are testament to the work of a motivated group of young people who are willing to work alongside their expert teachers to do their very best. When students feel seen, they can achieve greatness. Well done to all involved and I am looking forward to what they achieve at WG6, our excellent Sixth Form.’
