Wilmington Grammar School for Boys

Following very strong A Level results, Wilmington Grammar School for Boys can now also celebrate first-class GCSE results. The performance of students of this dedicated and determined group of students is remarkable and continues to reward student hard work and the school’s unrelenting focus on kindness, diligence and effort.

Mr Harrington, Head Teacher, commented “These results prove, yet again, that with hard work and cheerful collaboration, you can achieve excellence. The students in Year 11 deserve great credit – they have demonstrated that they truly understand the value of consistent application and thorough preparation. The students should be incredibly proud of their individual and collective achievements. We are very proud of them.”

A number of students achieved a full suite of top grades – an outstanding feat, achieved by very few students nationwide: Ashfiqur Bhiyan, Harry Jackson, Simmy Wakeford, Alfred Keech, Franco Murphy and Bojie Zhang. Special mention must also go to the very many students who achieved well beyond their expected grades. The individual achievements of every student in this year must not be underestimated.

Mr Harrington’s final thoughts, “The challenges faced by these students have been significant. The fact that the results are so strong demonstrates what can be achieved by a motivated group of young people who are willing to work alongside their expert teachers to do their very best. I am particularly pleased with the success of some of most vulnerable students, who have faced great challenges and achieved incredible success. Well done to all involved and I am looking forward to what they achieve at WG6, our vibrant Sixth Form.”

Wilmington Grammar School for Girls

Wilmington Girls Grammar school is celebrating with a truly exceptional GCSE cohort who has achieved some absolutely phenomenal results this year. Michelle Lawson, Head Teacher said, “This year’s outstanding results are truly reflective of an outstanding year group, who have shown the very essence of the school’s values throughout their time here, they have been resilient, committed and really striven for excellence, but they have also been collegiate and determined that every student will succeed, truly supporting one another through coaching and encouragement.  Today has seen the impact of that work as they have achieved some of the highest grades the school has seen, with over a third of grades at 9 & 8.” The average grade for students this year was a Grade 7 with 55% of grades at 7+.  We have some truly outstanding performances from Omobola Oyekunle with all Grade 9’s, Tanya Mannio, Farha Shameem, Saanvee Gudibanda, Millie Aram, Kiera Cogram, Nawshin Islam, Caterina Manicardi Settle and Arahi Nakuleswaran with all Grade 9 & 8. We are full of admiration for this cohort and would like to thank their families for their unwavering support and their staff for their exceptional commitment and hard work.  We look forward to their next steps as the majority continue into WG6.
