Blog week ending 20th December
Merry Christmas … one and all! It has been a truly magical term with countless activities, charitable endeavours and exceptional achievements across our school culminating in a range of shared festive celebrations. The below items really do sum up our WGSB ethos, thank you to all our families for your support, kind words and hands-on involvement in our community.
We welcomed local residents, student grandparents, ex-staff and staff parents, the Mayor of Dartford and local Councillors to join us for a delicious Community Christmas Afternoon Tea! It was a huge amount of fun with some wonderful entertainment from our Year 7 Choir and WG6 Gospel Choir (who ably assisted the Year 7 choir too!) as well as musical recitals … and a prize raffle! My parents were in attendance and can confirm that not only are our students’ excellent hosts, but our kitchen team bake delicious cakes and biscuits! Thank you to Miss Price and the team for organising such an enjoyable event.
Thank you for your continued generosity toward those in need of a little support over the Christmas period (and beyond) As you can see from the below photo, we struggled to fit your all of your donations into the van! We shared the donations, which included Christmas treat items as well as basic necessities, with our local community foodbank at St Michael and All Angels Church and with Dartford Foodbank.
