Celebrations at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys

Following excellent A Level results, Wilmington Grammar School for Boys can now also celebrate very strong GCSE results. The performance of students of this dedicated and determined group of students is remarkable and continues to reward student hard work and the school’s unrelenting focus on kindness, diligence and effort.
Mr Harrington, Headteacher, commented “These results prove, yet again, that with hard work and cheerful collaboration, you can achieve excellence. The students in Year 11 deserve great credit – they have demonstrated that they truly understand the value of consistent application and thorough preparation. The students should be incredibly proud of their individual and collective achievements. We are very proud of them.”
A number of students achieved a full suite of top grades- an outstanding feat, achieved by very few students nationwide: Clarance Antonypillai, Niteesh Thupakula, Shrutik Gopathi and Lucas Cooper. Special mention must also go to the very many students who achieved well beyond their expected grades. The individual achievements of every student in this year must not be underestimated.
Mr Harrington’s final thoughts, “The challenges faced by these students have been significant – they started school in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. The fact that the results are so strong demonstrates what can be achieved by a motivated group of young people who are willing to work alongside their expert teachers to do their very best. I am particularly pleased with the success of some of the most vulnerable students, who have faced great challenges and achieved incredible success. Well done to all involved and I am looking forward to what they achieve at WG6, our vibrant Sixth Form.”
Lucas commented “I am very pleased with my results and I am looking forward to joining WG6 soon.”

Shrutik said “GCSEs weren’t easy, I struggled and overcame numerous obstacles to get these grades. Nevertheless, my journey was eased with the excellent support offered by WGSB who have thoroughly prepared me for my future studies”.

Clarance, pictured below added “I’m content with results, albeit not perfect, and my grades show the hard work I put in. However, the mistakes I made will help me to improve for my A-Levels.”
